The Cold Steel G.I. Tanto survival knife has a Tanto-tipped blade. This tactical point is known for its toughness and can perfectly be used as a spear, for instance when fishing without a line.
To give the G.I. Tanto survival knife a high impact resistance, while also creating plenty of hardness to hold its edge for a long time, Cold Steel made the blade from tempered 1055 carbon steel. That’s tough like stainless steel, but almost as hard as a high carbon steel, but less brittle. A black coating prevents the blade against corrosion.
The polypropylene scales are attached to the full tang with countersunk screws to prevent blisters. This means they can also be taken off to be replaced by, for example, a paracord.
